Clarkson Farm’s Harriet Cowan set to star in Channel 4’s new children’s farming show Tiny Farmers alongside Jessica Knappett

Harriet Cowan, known for her role in Clarkson’s Farm, is branching out to feature in an exciting new programme, separate from the popular Amazon Prime series.

The 24-year-old agricultural worker is preparing to appear on Channel 4 in a children’s television production, working alongside The Inbetweeners actress Jessica Knappett.

Tiny Farmers will feature Harriet and Jessica teaming up with poultry specialists Avril and Michael. The quartet will be demonstrating how to identify contented chickens and providing viewers with details about an egg’s path from the farm to the dining table.

Concurrently, four youngsters will be tasked with becoming the next generation of egg producers, tackling responsibilities from hen welfare to demonstrating their culinary abilities.

Harriet, who balanced careers in both nursing and farming, rose to prominence after substituting as Jeremy Clarkson’s assistant whilst Kaleb Cooper was occupied with touring commitments during the fourth series of the acclaimed programme.

She rapidly gained popularity amongst audiences, assisting with various duties and utilising her visibility to highlight the genuine aspects of agricultural life, ultimately transitioning from healthcare to focus entirely on farming.

Since departing from Clarkson’s Farm, Harriet has established her own YouTube channel and emerged as a prominent figure in British agriculture, whilst remaining open to potential future appearances on the show, reports the Express.

Harriet has responded to a surge of online abuse she received this week, defending her “makeup and hair” as she gets stuck into farm work and delivers talks on her experiences as a female farmer.

On Monday, Harriet took to Instagram to address comments about her appearance that she had noticed on her posts following her announcement of an upcoming talk on farming.

She highlighted some of the remarks, including one that read: “She has never been a real farmer and is attempting to be a media star. As you say it’s a bit insulting to the real farm girls.

In response, Harriet posted a lengthy message which read: “Just want to say I’m going to lamma to look at machinery, yes I’m doing a panel about females in farming, but I think I earn the right to do so when day in day out I work just the same as every other farmer covered in s***.

“Who cares if I wear makeup or not, I don’t care if you have a haircut or not, I have farmed alongside my granddad and dad I genuinely love it, this is my job and it’s again only because I’m a girl… come on, I have been quiet because I think if I don’t share so much I won’t get the comments but they still come, remember we are real people.”

Tiny Farmers launches on Channel 4’s YouTube on January 19. The episode will also be available to stream on February 2.
