Savannah Guthrie Update Leaves Fans Stunned

A former detective has presented a suspect theory in the sensational case of missing Nancy Guthrie which challenges the narrative so far.

Rather than the abduction of the 84-year-old mom of Savannah Guthrie being carried out by a lone amateur, investigative expert Morgan Wright has analyzed one detail he believes could reveal the origins of the suspect: the way he carries his gun.

Instead of holstering their weapon in a conventional way, either to the side or tucked into the front, they have an entirely different method, which points to them possibly being a gang member or former gang member from a specific group. Morgan talked with investigative journalist Brian Entin on his podcast to discuss his observations. It comes after a mystery man who claimed he “saw Nancy 5 days ago” offered chilling new proof.

“That carry is called a Mexican carry. The way he carries it makes you think that guy is just an amateur,” said Morgan.

He added, “There are police officers who have been killed by people who carried their gun exactly like that.”

He continued, “There are several ways you can carry a gun. You can carry it in a holster, but you have to reach back. Or there’s an appendix carry where you wear it in your front near your appendix so it’s very easy to draw out.”

Morgan explained that carrying this way is difficult to do when you’re dressed like this person was, as a disguise but also for the cold desert night. He also denied claims that because the suspect was wearing a revolver holster for a semi-automatic weapon meant he must be an amateur.

In Morgan’s experience, this detail has no bearing on the competency of the suspect.

With no suspect named and no motive established, the search for Nancy Guthrie stretches into its second month. Ransom demands and DNA evidence have both been reported, but neither has moved the investigation forward in any visible way. Nancy’s family has put up $1 million for information that leads to her safe return. The FBI has added $10,000 of its own.

In a statement through KVOA, her loved ones said, “We miss our mom with every breath and we cannot be in peace until she is home. “We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder. Our focus is solely on finding her and bringing her home.” The family is certain someone in the community holds a piece of the puzzle — and is pleading for anyone with anything to come forward.

“We desperately ask this community for renewed attention to our mom’s case – please consult camera footage, journal notes, text messages, observations, or conversations that in retrospect may hold significance. No detail is too small. It may be the key.”

Nancy Guthrie, 84, is the mother of NBC Today anchor Savannah Guthrie. She was last seen at her Tucson home on the night of Saturday, January 31.
