Gordon Ramsayâs wife, Tana Ramsay, has been by the Hellâs Kitchen hostâs side for nearly three decades. During that time, the couple has had six children, and Tana has experienced countless tantrums (from both Gordon and the kids), though she says Gordonâs tantrums are all in good fun.

In fact, she says her hilariously hot-tempered husband is actually a big softie underneath all of his bravado and belligerence in the kitchen (which anyone whoâs watched Master Chef Junior or the second half of any episode of Kitchen Nightmares could tell you).
âGordon just loves winding people up. Absolutely loves it,â Tana told The Telegraph in 2016. âYou have to understand him to know what heâs like, and I understand him absolutely.â
No doubt Gordonâs had all the support in the world from Tana during his recent health scare. The Hellâs Kitchen star revealed in August 2025 that he underwent surgery to remove skin cancer. He shared in an Instagram post that heâd been diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma and praised the doctors who removed it. âPlease donât forget your sunscreen this weekend,â he advised his fans in the caption, alongside a pic of his surgery scar.
While Gordon continues to heal, letâs get to know the woman who won his heart.
How did Gordon Ramsay and his wife meet?
When Gordon first met Tana, she was in a relationship with someone elseâŚand she absolutely couldnât stand Gordon.
She told The Guardian that when she met Gordon for the first time at a New Yearâs Eve party, she thought he was a âcomplete arrogant arse.â It wasnât until she met him again by chance years later that she softened her opinion enough to go out with him.
When did Gordon Ramsay and Tana get married?
The Ramsays tied the knot on Dec. 21, 1996. On their 25th anniversary in 2021, Tana showed off how well she still fits into her wedding dress, despite being married to one of the best chefs on the planet.

What does Gordon Ramsayâs wife do?
Tana is a former Montessori school teacher, worked as a food editor for Grazia magazine and even owned a salon from 2011 to 2023. Sheâs also the author of multiple cookbooks, including Tana Ramsayâs Family Kitchen, Tanaâs Kitchen Secrets and I Love to Bake.
She told the Toronto City News that she and Gordonâs style in the kitchen couldnât be more different, but that when theyâre home with their family, he prefers her cooking to his.
She explained, âIâve never been trained as a chef. I take forever to chop an onion or a carrot compared to [Gordon], but itâs my way of real family food. Our dishes are completely different, and itâs the home cooking he wants when heâs at home.â
Did Gordon Ramsayâs wife have a baby?
On Nov. 11, 2023, Gordon announced that he and Tana welcomed a baby boy named Jesse to their family, and the Master Chef star said it would be their last, writing, â3 boys, 3 girlsâŚDONE.â
But the Ramsay family might have room for a seventh child after all. During a May 2025 appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, Gordon revealed that his wife has hopes for baby No. 7.
âSo you took like a break in the middle, so you were like overwhelmed, and then, just when things calm down, you were like, âLetâs do it again,ââ Kelly Ripa joked to Ramsay, who then pointed to his wife, saying, âTana wants one more! Number seven!â
Who did Gordon Ramsay have kids with?

Tana told People that fatherhood has definitely softened the famously foul-mouthed chef, at least at home.
âWe go long periods of time when we donât have all the kids home, and then when we are all together having dinner, Gordon will say, âItâs really nice to have everyone here.â And theyâre like, âOh God, watch out! Heâs going to cry!ââ Tana said.
Does Gordon Ramsay live with his wife?

âWhen it comes to our busy schedules, people say, âIt must be hard having to be apart so often,ââ she told People. âIt is, but I feel really lucky that I still get butterflies when we havenât seen each other for a few weeks. I never want to take that for grantedâeven with all these kids to worry about. We have a lot of fun.â Awww!
