Kev’s Return Linked to Sugden Farm Crimes The fires may be hiding a MUCH bigger secret… 😳🔥 As chaos erupts around Sugden farm, Robert Sugden fears an old enemy could be returning to Emmerdale.

A series of fires up at the new Sugden farm leaves Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) with the fear his ex is very close to returning to Emmerdale. But is he looking in the wrong direction?

I am of course referring to complex criminal Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill). Introduced to us last year, Kev left us all stunned when was confirmed as Robert’s prison husband. Even though they were married, the love they had for each other wasn’t straightforward.

They connected while sharing a cell, but Kev displayed a possessive streak whenever he feared he was about to lose Robert.

This happened when Kev was released as well. He resorted to desperate measures to try and keep Robert close, lying to him about his health, and holding him hostage when he discovered he was seeing Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).

Kev departed the village with a broken heart, but came back when John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) captured him as part of his revenge plan. Fortunately, Kev proved that there might actually be a tiny bit of good inside of him – unlike John – as he warned Aaron of what the twisted Sugden was planning.

We know Kev is heading back to Emmerdale, and it’s very possible he’ll start causing trouble next week.

After putting out a second fire on the farm, Robert and Aaron begin to speculate on who’s starting them.

Meanwhile, after facing Lydia Dingle’s (Karen Blick) wrath for missing a dance class, Sam Dingle (James Hooton) heads to see Ross Barton (Michael Parr).

They arrive at a barn and analyse the space, deciding exactly what they’ll need for their plan. To prevent the secret from being exposed, Ross decides to create a cover story. He hands Sam a lighter and asks him to do the honours.

As Aaron and Robert approach the barn, Sam makes a run for it, meaning suspicions about Ross being the arsonist increase tenfold. Aaron and Robert question Ross, but he says that he was looking for the culprit. He tells the couple to pay him to keep investigating – and Robert considers it.

After another fire, Ross points out to Robert that he should consider the possibility of Kev being responsible. Keen to resolve the matter quickly, Robert agrees to triple Ross’ pay to find the arsonist, but Aaron wonders if he’s so eager to solve the mystery because he’s actually the culprit, and wants to frame someone else.

As the plot thickens, Aaron quickly takes the approach of trust no-one. This leads him to pondering over the fact a certain resident close to the family seems kind and charming on the surface – but none of them actually know a lot about him.

Also introduced last year, Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) has become a staple of the Emmerdale community. He’s quite chaotic, but most of the residents recognise he’s got a big heart.

But could that all be an act? Aaron is right – we don’t really know Kammy Hadiq very well at all.

While Detective Ross gets on the case next week, Kammy turns up late for work at the garage. Aaron lambasts him and urges him to pull his weight, but then realises a tired looking Kammy has his shirt on backwards.

Towards the end of the week, Aaron and Robert vow to find the arsonist, but neither see Kammy listening in, looking alarmed.

While eyes are on Ross, and maybe even Kev, is Kammy hiding in plain sight?

Is he secretly some sort of criminal mastermind?

Discussing the return of Kev Towsend, producer of the show Laura Shaw said: ‘Both Chris and the character of Kev made a massive impact on the show last year, so Chris is most definitely back by popular demand. With Kev’s son, Lewis, in the village still unaware of who his father is, it’s safe to say that there’s a lot of unfinished business and drama ahead.’

Chris Coghill added: ‘I’m really pleased to be returning to Emmerdale, I had a brilliant time last year. Kev is a complex character that I love playing.
