Giada De Laurentiis isn’t the only leading lady in the family.
The Food Network alum and her ex-husband Todd Thompson supported their daughter Jade at her high school musical performance over the weekend. The high school sophomore was performing in the show Working, according to De Laurentiis and Thompson’s joint Instagram post. “#proudparents,” they added in the caption.
The pair, who announced their divorce in 2014, were all smiles in a cute photo with their daughter. They also included a video of the 15-year-old belting out a song — followed by a picture of her making a kissy face and holding a bouquet of flowers after her performance.
The Italian-born chef, who is in a longterm relationship with boyfriend Shane Farley, told PEOPLE in 2022 that Jade goes to a high school with a “less academic and more artsy” curriculum. The teen has starred in other school musicals like Matilda and attended theater camp. She also performs with a band.

In addition to her artistic talents, Jade has proven her skills in the kitchen, too.
Jade baked De Laurentiis a homemade chocolate cake in August in honor of her mom’s 53rd birthday. The whole process was documented in a wholesome and hilarious Instagram video.
In the video, Jade explained that her mother asks for a chocolate cake “every year” so she was attempting to bake a chocolate and strawberry dessert.
“I’d say my skill set is up to boxed mac and cheese so we’ll see how this goes,” Jade said, referencing the time she made Annie’s Mac and Cheese for a Mother’s Day gift in 2022.
The process wasn’t entirely smooth, for example, Jade threw out egg yolks that she should have reserved and needed to ask for her mom’s help identifying a sifter. But, despite her not-so-confident attitude, the final product got rave reviews from the Giadzy founder.
“Jade this is so beautiful,” De Laurentiis said, sticking her fork into the cake and calling it a “10 out of 10. Jade, you are officially my baker.”
