Ella and Joe first met through mutual friends and their shared football background. Although their careers and loyalties make for a playful contrast, their bond has only grown stronger. Ella represents Manchester United, while Joe is known as a devoted Manchester City fan.

Joe, a former professional and current non-league footballer and coach, proposed in Ibiza last August in front of a dramatic archway of red roses. The romantic setup included a sign asking, “Will you marry me?”, and the couple later shared the happy news online with the message: “Forever.”

The proposal also included Joe’s young son Arlo, who took part in the sweet moment by holding a red rose and the engagement ring. For fans, it added another emotional layer to the couple’s journey from engagement to wedding day.

Ella had recently celebrated her hen do in Ibiza with close friends and Lioness teammates, sharing her excitement online and praising Alessia Russo as the best maid of honour. Now, with the wedding complete, the couple’s football fairytale has moved into its most personal chapter yet.

From the elegant Cheshire venue to the star-studded Lioness guest list, Ella and Joe’s wedding was a joyful celebration of love, friendship and the people who have stood beside them along the way.
