Savannah Guthrie shares moving message as search for missing mom Nancy passes four-month mark
Savannah Guthrie posted a poignant social media message as the search for her missing mom, Nancy Guthrie, continues.
The “Today” show co-host uploaded a photo of a painting showing Jesus Christ’s ascension via Instagram Stories over the weekend.
“Oh my, my soul, it cries out, soul, it cries out,” was written over the art.
Savannah added her own words to Sunday’s upload, sharing a plea to “bring her home” alongside a yellow heart emoji.
The color, notably, has been used as a symbol of hope since Nancy was reported missing from her Arizona home on Feb. 1.
After the 81-year-old was abducted from her residence in the middle of the night, neighbors showed their support for the Guthrie family with yellow flowers and ribbons.
While Savannah took a hiatus from the NBC morning show to navigate the tragedy with siblings Annie Guthrie and Camron Guthrie, she returned in April — and wore a yellow dress.
“It’s good to be home,” she told viewers at the time. “Well, ready or not, here we go! Let’s do the news.”
Her colleague Craig Melvin was seated at her side in a suit and a yellow tie.
Savannah sported the same bright shade the following month to honor Nancy during the first broadcast after Mother’s Day.
“We will never stop looking for you,” she wrote via Instagram on the holiday. “We will never be at peace until we find you.”
Nancy’s disappearance hit the 100-day mark that week, with Page Six reporting officials have “scaled back” their search.
“The investigation is not a rescue investigation,” retired FBI agent Jason Pack explained last month. “At this point, they look at it as a recovery and investigating a crime.”
Savannah acknowledged as much in a February video to her mom’s kidnapper, saying, “She may already be gone. … And if this is what is to be, then we will accept it, but we need to know where she is.”
Her family has offered $1 million for information leading to Nancy’s return.
