Coronation Street viewers have been left devastated for Todd Grimshaw of late.
Recently on the popular ITV soap, Theo Silverton has been manipulating Todd for weeks in a troubling domestic abuse storyline.
In recent instalments, the situation took an even more sinister turn when Theo produced a knife at Todd after being unable to pay the bill for his lavish birthday meal.
Following the disturbing scenes, Theo terminated the relationship with Todd in another strategic manoeuvre, informing him he wasn’t satisfied and that Todd wasn’t either.
On Thursday’s episode, which is accessible on ITV X, detecting Todd’s distress, Glenda Shuttleworth chose to arrange a blind date for him with her friend from the cruise ships – Raymond, which Theo happened to overhear, reports the Daily Star.

Whilst Todd attempted to enjoy his date, Theo walked into the Bistro, interrupting Gary Windass’ 40th birthday celebration as he intentionally laughed as loudly as possible to distract Todd.
After detecting that Todd and Theo shared a past, Raymond chose to conclude the date as he requested Todd accompany him to the bus stop, leaving Theo furious.
Soap enthusiasts will recognise Raymond star, Andy Brady, owing to their notable career thus far. Andy has featured in hit film Saltburn as Vicar Wainwright, Heathers the Musical and The Crown as an ETON Journalist to name just a few.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Andy shared a post marking his debut on the ITV soap. Posting a photograph of his scene with Todd, it read: “Tonight is the night! Raymond makes his entrance @coronationstreet.”
In forthcoming scenes this week, whilst the two characters attempt to progress with dates, Theo discovers James Bailey offering Todd a pre-marathon pep talk.

Subsequently, whilst Todd answers a call, Theo secretly slips some drugs into Todd’s drink with spoilers next week disclosing the consequences.
It emerges that Theo has intentionally undermined Todd’s marathon preparation, as he takes pleasure in informing Todd’s friends that he attempted knocking on Todd’s door but he must have departed already.
As the week unfolds, Theo tries to revive his relationship with Todd, confiding his scheme to Gary Windass. On Wednesday, Theo tells Todd that he has a surprise arranged for him.
Arriving at the undertakers dressed immaculately, Theo guides a blindfolded Todd into the register office where Gary and Maria are waiting. Presenting two wedding rings, Theo reveals to Todd that they never cancelled their wedding so can still proceed… what will Todd do?
