Coronation Street’s Daniel Osbourne is pushed to his limit next week, as trolls attack him in the street – hurling insults and paint at him.
But as these thugs jump on the bandwagon of abuse, Daniel’s completely unaware that Jodie Ramsey is the real troll in charge – and she’s living under his roof. Will he realise she’s behind the online attack?
“Jodie’s smear campaign against Daniel has spiralled out of control,” explains our Corrie source. “Now it’s not just her anonymous account dragging his name through the mud, as people are attacking him on the street based on lies over Megan. It’s beyond cruel…”
Life is becoming unbearable for stressed Daniel, especially now that his poor son Bertie is being bullied at school thanks to the twisted social media posts from the anonymous ‘Truthteller’ account.
Heartbroken to see the young boy dragged into this, Daniel tells Ken that he plans to confront the troll online himself…
Back at the flat, Jodie reads Daniel’s furious reply, and there’s a close call when he arrives home unexpectedly. But when Daniel tells her that he’s reported the trolling to the police and they’re starting an investigation, will she cover her tracks or back off?
Struggling to sleep, Daniel lies awake scrolling through every horrible post about him. Later, Jodie tries to ease her guilt by pointing out that Truthteller hasn’t posted in a while – but now other trolls have joined the attack.
As Daniel heads to No.1 he’s ambushed by two thugs who shout insults and throw paint at him, all while filming his reaction. Unable to control his temper, Daniel retaliates and threatens to kill them.
The clip soon goes viral, and Daniel rages at newcomer Idris for laughing at the footage, which leads to an explosive meltdown in Speed Daal…
Sympathetic Ken is taken aback when Daniel confesses he never went away to the Lakes, hiding in his own flat with only Jodie for support. Daniel’s admission leaves Ken questioning whether his son is really fit to be a parent…
The next day, Daniel’s shocked to find that the Truthteller account has deleted all their posts and disappeared. He hopes his ordeal might be over and gathers his loved ones to celebrate in the Bistro. But as Jodie sits between them, is Daniel’s nightmare far from over?
