ITV I’m A Celebrity… South Africa winner Adam Thomas has broken his silence on his win after the live final descended into chaos.
A clearly emotional Adam was crowned winner in the live final on ITV1 after a fan vote but it followed a turbullent time for him in camp which saw him feuding with David Haye and Jimmy Bullard.
During the live final, campmates stormed off set and David, who had previously been embroiled in accusations of “bullying” Adam – claims he denied, challenged him live on air with Ant and Dec being forced to step in.
Later on the aftershow, I’m A Celebrity… Unpacked, all three men were missing from the set and Ant and Dec revealed what they really thought of the former Emmerdale star’s win.
On Saturday morning, Adam posted a photo of himeself with his wife Caroline on Instagram as he reached out to fans.
He said: “I walked through this journey with my heart first, no matter what came my way…It was not always easy, there were moments that could have broken me, but I stayed true to myself and that is something I will always be proud of.

He continued: “I have realised that when people try to dim your light, it says more about them than it ever will about you.
“This experience has shown me my strength in ways I never imagined. Not because of any title or recognition, but because I stayed kind, I stayed grounded and I stayed real.”Family means everything to me, and there is one person who has been my rock through it all. Happy birthday to my Beautiful wife, you have stood by me when things were tough and reminded me of my strength when I needed it most. I would not be who I am without you.”To everyone who supported me, who believed in me and showed love, thank you, it means more than I can ever put into words.”And to those who doubted me or tried to bring me down, I carry no negativity towards you. I have already won in the ways that matter most. I have love, I have happiness and I have stayed true to myself, and that is something no one can ever take away from me.”I hope one day you can do the same.”

Colleagues and fans rushed to support him with I’m A Celeb co-star Scarlett Moffatt saying: “You have handled it all with grace. Sending lots of love. No one can take the title of legend away from you. Keep smiling Adam.”
Strictly star Gemma Atkinson said: “Never a doubt!” A third added: “Such a beautiful soul Adam. You fully deserved to win last night. It’s such a shame you couldn’t be your usual happy, bubbly self as we all know you are.”
During the aftershow, host Sam Thompson asked Ant and Dec about “worthy” winner Adam and Dec responded: “He had a really tough time in there , he was up and down, he said himself he struggled in there but he did brilliantly.
“He faced all the trials and challenges, he got on with it, he did brilliantly. Yeah he deserved to win.”
