Pete Wicks reveals For Dogs’ Sake’s future and rivalry with Alison Hammond’s show
Pete Wicks has provided fans with an update on his popular For Dogs’ Sake series as he also joked about his rivalry with ITV star Alison Hammond
Fans of Pete Wicks’ For Dogs’ Sake have been eager to find out if the series will be returning and the former TOWIE man has now shared the answer. The dog lover, 37, has been endearing viewers with his touching documentary series volunteering at Dogs Trust rehoming centres since January 2025.
He has since dropped three series, with fans awaiting news of a fourth. And now the reality TV star has confirmed a fourth offering is in the pipeline.
Speaking to best pal and podcast co-host Sam Thompson, Pete revealed filming for the show is expected to get under way next month. “I start filming for series four in two weeks time,” he explained.
But he also revealed Alison Hammond has her own offering as he claimed the duo are “enemies” in the TV world. “Battersea are currently filming with Alison Hammond For The Love Of Dogs, my enemy in the TV world,” he added. “But it just goes to show how amazing these charities are.”
Pete’s show has bagged him a number of awards in the past year, including a TV Choice Award. It focuses on the realities of rescue dogs and showcases how much it costs to care for abandoned puppies.
Pete previously admitted to the Mirror he hoped to become the new Paul O’Grady. In a chat with us, he said: “Am I the new Paul O’Grady? It would be a privilege.
“He’s an icon, a national treasure. “What he did for dogs, the love that he showed, you don’t find very often. It’s an absolute honour to even be put in the same sentence as someone like that.
He went on: “Whenever you watched Paul with dogs there was genuine love and care. I’m the same, and I think that’s where the comparisons come from.
“I met him once at an awards ceremony, and I was star struck. He probably had no idea who I was. He was a really lovely man. And whenever you think of him, you think of dogs. That’s what I hope for.”
Alison, meanwhile, took over from Paul on For The Love Of Dogs after Paul O’Grady’s death in 2023. Last year, she found herself blasting back at trolls who had been scrutinising her role.
Chatting to The Guardian, Alison said: “People say Pete Wicks would be better than me at presenting For the Love of Dogs. He might be, but I’m doing it. Deal with it!
“I know my worth. Besides, my mum would have been so proud. That’s why I do this. She’s my guiding light.”
