Heartbroken Ant McPartlin and ex Lisa Armstrong to split dog’s ashes after sad death
Ant McPartlin and his ex Lisa Armstrong shared custody of their brown Labrador Hurley after they divorced, with the couple deciding to ‘co-parent’ their pooch, swapping him over every other week
Ant McPartlin and his ex-wife Lisa Armstrong have split Hurley’s ashes 50/50 after years of feuding. The former couple, who split in 2018 after 11 years of marriage, have not been on good terms since their break-up, but they still shared custody of their Labrador.
When Hurley sadly died last month, with Ant holding the pooch as he took his last breaths, the last tie between the two was finally cut. After his death, the heartbroken pair – who were caught up in a harrowing £30million divorce battle – each left the country to grieve their pet.
While Ant spent some time in Portugal, Lisa left for Los Angeles, with them reportedly arranging for the dog to be cremated while they were abroad. They then arranged to collect their halves of Hurley’s ashes separately, so they could scatter them at their own homes and each be able to pay tribute to him.
A source told the Daily Mail: “Ant and Lisa agreed to share Hurley’s ashes 50/50. It’s a decision they felt was fair, and it means they’ll both be able to hold their own farewells. Ant has already collected his ashes, while Lisa intends to do likewise when she returns from her trip.”
