Elsewhere, vile paedophile teacher Megan Walsh was finally arrested after months of abuse.

The athletics coach – played by Beth Nixon – has been grooming teenager Will Driscoll (Lucas Hogdson-Wale) right under his family’s nose.

Another teenager, Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) uncovered the truth, only for Megan to bully him into silence.

This week, Sam finally opened up to his family and the police, with Megan soon placed under arrested.

Wednesday’s episode ended DS Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) approaching her and boyfriend Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).

Kit told the predatory teacher: ‘Megan Walsh, I’m arresting you on suspcion of meeting a child following sexual grooming.’

Daniel was naturally bewildered to hear this, while Megan soon feigned confusion over what was happening.

She said: ‘This is madness. Who am I supposed to have even been…?’

However, Kit cut her off by saying: ‘I’d rather not get into that here.’

‘It’s Will Driscoll, isn’t it?’ Daniel asked, having previously had a conflict with the teenager.

Four years ago, Daniel was falsely accused of grooming a pupil, making him skeptical of the accusations towards Megan.

He told Kit: ‘Seriously, come on? The kid’s had a crush on her. She’s been trying to let him down gently for months.’

Kit responded: ‘Well, Ms Walsh can discuss that down the station, can’t she?’

But Daniel continued: ‘You lot are so gullible. I don’t get this. Have you not learned anything from what you put me through?’

In Thursday’s episode, Kit questioned Megan at the police station, as Will’s family each discovered what had been going on.

His father Ben (Aaron McCusker) and stepmother Eva (Catherine Tyldesley) tried to secure hotel CCTV proving Megan and Will were together.

Unfortunately, the pair missed the 90-day deadline by just hours – and the vital footage had been automatically deleted at midnight.

Given a lack of concrete evidence, Kit had to release Megan from police custody, although still investigating.

Eva’s sister Leanne (Jane Danson) made her opinion towards Megan very clear, by throwing her possessions into the cobbled street.

Will Megan be brought to justice, or will she manage to get away with her crimes unscathed?
