Britain’s Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas continues to build serious momentum following her historic 2024 victory, recently making a standout US television debut on FOX 5 New York’s Good Day New York.

Dressed in a striking red gown, Christmas impressed American viewers with a powerful performance of a Frank Sinatra classic, with many calling her voice one of the finest to come out of BGT in years. While the song itself is timeless, it was her raw emotion and deep personal connection that made the performance truly unforgettable.
Christmas made history last June as the first female singer ever to win Britain’s Got Talent, taking home the £250,000 prize and earning a coveted spot at the Royal Variety Performance.
The Kent native was fast-tracked to the live shows after Amanda Holden hit the golden buzzer for her emotional rendition of “Tomorrow” from Annie. Staying true to her love of musical theatre, her soaring performance of “Over the Rainbow” ultimately won over the public, placing her ahead of runner-up magician Jack Rhodes and dance duo Abigail and Afronita.
Since her win, Christmas has taken a thoughtful and grounded approach to her next steps. She revealed on Instagram that she had returned to school to finish her Level 3 personal training qualification, explaining that it was important for her to have long-term stability. She has also been careful with her prize money, sharing that she placed the winnings into savings with the goal of buying a house in the future.

Musically, her career has continued to grow at speed. Her first New York headline show at the iconic Sony Hall sold out in April, marking a strong start to her US journey. She released her debut album My Way in October, which includes her own take on Vera Lynn’s wartime classic “We’ll Meet Again”, released to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day.

Reflecting on her Britain’s Got Talent journey, Christmas recently wrote that the experience “completely changed my life,” calling the song “My Way” her personal anthem through winning the show, releasing her album, and touring. She added that she hopes she did Frank Sinatra — “Ol’ Blue Eyes” — proud, saying his music has played a meaningful role in her journey.
As Britain’s Got Talent: The Final returns this weekend, ten new acts will compete for the title, all hoping to follow in Sydnie Christmas’s footsteps. For Christmas herself, her US debut and growing international success show that her story is far from over and that her voice is only reaching bigger stages from here.
