Bradley Walsh opened up about presenting The Chase, ahead of returning to screens alongside his son and co-star Barney Walsh for the latest series of Gladiators
Bradley Walsh has made a surprising admission about The Chase, a show he has presented since its inception in 2009. The host and his son Barney are regulars on television, fronting various programmes both together and separately.
Recently asked by Radio Times magazine if they watch each other’s shows, Bradley revealed he hasn’t watched The Chase back in a long time.
He added: “I wouldn’t imagine Barney watches The Chase, simply because of his filming schedule.
“I haven’t seen The Chase in years because I don’t finish in the studio until five o’clock.”
The 65-year-old said he does, however, watch BBC’s Casualty, in which Barney, 28, has played Cameron Mickelthwaite since 2023.

He added: “I’m an avid fan of Casualty and have loved the series for years. I like how the team has recently made it more cinematic.”
Sharing his response to the question, Barney said: “We finish filming around 7pm, so it’s rare I’m home in time for The Chase, but when I’ve got time off and it’s on, I do watch. I love it.”
Bradley and his son first came together on television in 2019, fronting the ITV travel series Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad.
It has since returned for a further five series, with the latest airing in 2025.
Recently asked about working together “We actually went through a list of all the things we’ve done and it’s probably about 80 to 100 crazy different activities that we’ve done over the years.
“I started when I was 19, I’m 27 now so it’s been a long time and we’ve made a lot of memories along the way, but I think there are still more things that we can do.”

Pressed on whether a new series is in the pipeline, he added: “For now, we’re both focusing on different things.
“Dad and I are both very busy in our own ways but we’d love to make more in the future, but it just depends.”
What is certain is that Bradley will continue with The Chase as well as its spin-off, Beat The Chasers.
His other projects in recent years have included hosting Blankety Blank and Bradley Walsh: Egypt’s Cosmic Code.
Previously asked about his future on The Chase, he told the Daily Mail: “Until people say they’ve had enough and start switching off, I’ll do it.
