A ‘Bobby’s Triple Threat’ star addresses online claims about an ‘explosive argument’ with Bobby Flay during the debut episode of his ‘Bobby on the Beat’ podcast.
On the premiere episode of Bobby Flay’s brand-new podcast Bobby on the Beat, chef Ayesha Nurdjaja opened up about her whirlwind year, her close partnership with Flay, and the surprising rumor that recently sent fans into a panic.
Flay introduced her as the perfect guest for his very first episode, calling her “the newest Titan on Triple Threat” and someone who “crushed it in her first season.” He added, “I have so much love for Ayesha for so many reasons. She’s a wonderful chef. She is a wonderful person.”
Nurdjaja admitted that her life “feels different” than it did a year ago, thanks to overwhelming positivity from viewers. “I feel like this time around… there was all positivity surrounded by it,” she said.
But mid-episode, she revealed something unexpected: “According to the internet right now, you and I had an explosive argument and that I have said farewell to the fans and I’m not coming back.”
Flay couldn’t believe it. “What?!” he said. “This is unbelievable! Are you serious?!”

Flay shared that when Tiffany Derry decided to leave the show, Nurdjaja was his first call.
“You’re a damn great chef,” he told her. “You made me look really smart.”
He also opened up about why trust mattered so much in bringing her on, saying, “I wanted to make sure that when I said something that was going to happen, that I was going to try my damndest to make sure that it happened… I need you to feel good and comfortable.”
Ayesha agreed that trust was foundational between them. “You were like, ‘We’re partners now,’ and that really meant something to me,” she said.

Nurdjaja said people often confuse being good on TV with being a good cook.
Flay agreed: “People think being on TV isn’t about cooking — it’s really about cooking. That’s the most important thing.”
