ITV viewers took to Xin outrage after Loose Women failed to discuss the death of Henry Nowak and instead spoke about being overwhelmed by group chats, among other topics. The 18-year-old was killed by Vickrum Digwa in Southampton in December 2025. The tragedy has returned to the headlines as Digwa was sentenced to life in prison on Monday (May 1) after it was found when police arrived at the scene of the stabbing, the defendant claimed he had been the victim of a racist attack, which resulted in Nowak being handcuffed while dying.

The social media backlash was led by broadcaster Dan Wootton, who blasted “woke ITV” and Loose Women which was hosted by Charlene White today. He penned, “They did not utter a single word about Henry Nowak.” Alongside a photo of Charlene on Tuesday’s episode (May 2), he added: “The show’s coverage of Black Lives Matter was unrelenting. Today, they spoke about drowning in group chats. Henry drowned in his own blood. Shame on you all.”

Henry drowned in his own blood.

The post riled up a plethora of responses, as one furious X user responded: “Absolutely unwatchable these days. Dreadful programme.”

“How can they ignore the body cam footage released last night?? Even if they don’t want to show it on daytime TV, it is the biggest story of today by a mile! It’s a good thing no-one watches that any more,” raged another.

A third raged: “I stopped watching #loosewomen last year because I was sick and tired of them being woke and not talking about really important issues. Case in point today.”

As another slammed: “@loosewomen, you should be ashamed. Where’s your outrage for Henry?”

“Pathetic show and out of touch presenters – a total load of rubbish @loosewomen @ITV shame on you all,” blasted a fifth.

“@loosewomen I have watched you for decades, but I totally agree with everything Dan Wootton has said.”

Footage released by the force, with permission from Nowak’s family, shows him pleading: “I’ve been stabbed,” and an officer replying: “I don’t think you have mate”.

Digwa was jailed for life with a minimum 21-year term. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said an investigation into the police force’s actions was ongoing.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has addressed the case and said that as a father of a 17-year-old, he “felt sick” watching the footage. He said there were “searching questions for the police that are going to have to be answered”.

It is “absolutely right” that the police watchdog investigate this, he added.
