Beverley Callard has opened up about her latest health update following surgery — and while there is some relief, the journey is far from over.
The former Coronation Street star, 69, revealed earlier this year that she had been diagnosed with an early stage of breast cancer. Now, after undergoing an operation, she has shared the results — and they’re a mix of good news… and uncertainty.
Speaking in a candid video, Beverley confirmed the procedure was successful, with doctors removing the cancer and expressing satisfaction with how everything went.
But there’s more.
During surgery, three lymph nodes were also tested — and while two came back clear, one showed a small trace of cancer.
Explaining it in her own words, she described the lymph nodes as “like a staircase” — where cancer can spread step by step.
For now, everything depends on what comes next.
Samples have been sent away for further testing to determine how aggressive the cancer is — results that will shape her next stage of treatment.
If it’s more serious, chemotherapy will be needed before radiotherapy. If not, she may move straight to radiotherapy as originally planned.
For Beverley, it means one thing: more waiting. And that, she admits, is one of the hardest parts.
Despite the uncertainty, she remained positive, thanking fans for their ongoing support and acknowledging how many others are facing similar battles.
Her diagnosis itself came as a shock — revealed just moments before she was due to step on set for a new role, turning what should have been an exciting milestone into a life-changing moment.
Now, as she waits for answers, Beverley’s story is resonating with many — not just for the diagnosis, but for the strength it takes to face the unknown.
