David Beckham and Victoria Beckham have publicly reflected on “great memories” with their estranged eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, marking their first comments since his explosive statement accusing them of controlling behaviour and refusing reconciliation.

As the family rift deepens and friends say Victoria has been left devastated by the week’s events, the couple quietly responded to a poignant throwback post shared by renowned British photographer Platon. The images date back to 2006, when David was playing for Real Madrid, and include a striking shot of the former footballer standing shirtless with Brooklyn’s name tattooed across his back.

Platon recalled the day vividly, describing how Victoria arrived at the studio with the children — Brooklyn aged seven, Romeo just four and baby Cruz in her arms. While David was being photographed, Brooklyn reportedly ran onto the set clutching a football and wrapped his arms around his father’s leg, soon joined by Romeo. Moments later, Victoria stepped in with Cruz, and the family turned away from the cameras for what Platon described as a spontaneous, heartfelt group hug.

He reflected that fame often comes at a heavy cost, adding that it is frequently family members who end up paying the price.

Both David and Victoria acknowledged the post publicly. David simply wrote, “Good memories,” while Victoria added, “Brings back great memories!” — a brief but emotionally loaded response amid the ongoing turmoil.

Platon concluded by noting that even though David stood alone in the photograph, the love of his children was permanently etched onto his back, writing that family is everything.

The reflections come just days after Brooklyn released a six-page statement saying he had no desire to reconcile with his parents. He accused them of attempting to undermine his marriage to wife Nicola Peltz and alleged that his mother behaved inappropriately during their 2022 wedding.
